Director of Operations

Meet our Director of Operations at Latino Business Alliance, Angelina Martinez. Angelina moved to America in 1981 and has lived in Salem, Oregon ever since. She’s made a big impact on the Willamette Valley where she used to run her own stores in malls like Salem Center Mall, Albany Mall, Vancouver Mall, Clackamas Mall, Willamette Town Center (when it was Lancaster Mall), and in Lebanon, Oregon. She ran five different cell phone accessory stores: A&G Phone Toys in Oregon and Cell Phone Toys in Washington.

Running her own stores taught Angelina a lot about starting and running a business. She learned that having help and support is really important for a business to do well.

Now, Angelina helps other businesses at LBA. She uses what she learned to support new businesses. She helps with events like Cafe y Pan Dulce and coordinates the small business loans that LBA provides. Angelina also organizes the Latino Microenterprise Development Program classes and groups to teach people how to succeed in business.

Angelina works hard to bring new members into LBA and to help them succeed. She’s also in charge of LBA’s major annual event, Expo Negocio, where Latino businesses can network and share their knowledge.

Angelina’s passion for helping others comes from her own experience. She knows what it’s like to start a business and struggle. She wants to make sure others have the support they need to succeed, just like she did.
